Barron River Half-Day Rafting

4 hours

Paddle grade 3 rapids through Barron Gorge with a river guide in your raft. Around two hours on the water, with self-drive and transfer options available.

Raft through the rainforest-lined Barron Gorge on a half-day adventure close to Cairns. With around two hours on the river, this Foaming Fury trip mixes grade 3 rapids with quieter sections where you can take in the granite walls and surrounding forest.

Learn as you paddle

No previous rafting experience is needed. Your guide explains the safety procedures and paddle commands before you set off, then helps your crew work together through the rapids. A helmet and lifejacket are provided.

The meeting point is Lake Placid, with a coach transfer taking the group to the river starting point. Choose self-drive if you can make your own way there, or select a package that specifically includes return transfers.

This is a physical river activity rather than a passive boat ride. Check age, medical and levy requirements for your selected booking before confirming.
