Which Cairns tour suits a two-hour gap?
The 75-minute sightseeing cruise or 35-minute jet boat ride may fit, provided your chosen sailing, check-in and travel to and from the marina fit that gap. Neither activity duration includes every part of your outing.
Can I visit the reef and be back by lunchtime?
Check a specific morning sailing rather than relying on the words “half day”. Reef Adventures lists an approximately four-hour trip, with check-in beforehand. Tusa’s published itinerary returns around 2pm, and Pure Snorkelling is an afternoon trip. Confirm the exact available departure before making another booking.
Is Green Island a genuine morning-only tour?
Not with the Great Adventures return timetable currently published. The earliest listed departure from Green Island is 2:30pm, reaching Cairns around 3:20pm. Even the shorter 10:30am outward sailing takes nearly five hours return before check-in. See Green Island tours for fare choices.
How much time do I get on Fitzroy Island on the half-day tour?
The current half-day listing allows about two hours ashore, with ferry crossings of approximately 45 minutes each way. The 10:45am Cairns departure and 2pm island departure mean a mid-afternoon return to Cairns. Use your confirmation for final times.
Does half-day rafting mean four hours on the river?
No. Barron River rafting has about two hours on the water. Transfers, fitting equipment and the briefing make the overall outing longer. Rainforest tubing similarly has about 1.5–2 hours on the river within an approximately 4.5-hour tour.
Can I do a sunset cruise after a half-day tour?
It can work when the confirmed return leaves enough time to reach the cruise check-in. A late-afternoon reef or river return may overlap. Compare the actual timetable with the sunset cruise departure and allow time to change and travel.
Are these suitable for cruise ship visitors?
Suitability depends on your ship’s berth, disembarkation arrangements and all-aboard time. Compare those with check-in and the expected return, leaving a substantial buffer. A short advertised activity does not guarantee a connection to your ship.
