Four-Day Open Water Dive Course – One Night on OceanQuest
Learn to dive over four days with Divers Den: two days of Cairns theory and pool training, followed by two reef days and one night aboard OceanQuest.
Work towards PADI Open Water certification and spend a night at the Great Barrier Reef on this four-day Divers Den course. It follows the same initial theory and pool-training format as the day-trip course, then replaces the two separate reef day trips with a two-day, one-night OceanQuest stay.
Days one and two: learn in Cairns
Begin at Divers Den’s Cairns dive centre, learning dive theory, equipment use and practical skills in the training pool. Your instructor helps you prepare before moving to open-water training at the reef.
Days three and four: stay at the reef
Travel offshore and complete four instructor-led training dives across the two reef days, staying aboard OceanQuest overnight. Sites are selected according to conditions and may include Norman, Saxon and Hastings Reefs.
The overnight stay means you remain at the reef between training days. Meals aboard OceanQuest, equipment, PADI materials and instruction are included; meals during the Cairns training days are extra.
This is a beginner Open Water course, not an Advanced course. Certification depends on completing the theory, water skills and training dives. A night scuba dive is not part of this itinerary because certification is completed on the second reef day.
